Time and space work as crossing axes, marking out where questions of race, space, power, and freedom begin. The framework is assembled from the writing and activism of Jemima Pierre, Michel-Rolph Trouillot, and Edwidge Danticat, and it proceeds from an Antillean feminist standpoint.

The result is an account of Diaspora identity that moves fluidly rather than in fixed categories, with consequences for how being is described, how knowledge is understood, and how either might be taught.
